Augusta, GA – Mrs. Dolores Waddey Gentry, 90, wife of the late O. Lee Gentry, Jr., entered into rest on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection with Reverend David Hunter officiating.
Born November 25, 1924 to Charles M. Waddey, Jr. and Thelma Dasher Waddey, she was a lifetime resident of Augusta. After retirement from the family business, Commercial Printing Co., she enjoyed many years conducting estate sales and dealing in antiques. Mrs. Gentry was past Regent of the Augusta Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and past President of the Augusta Woman’s Club. Mrs. Gentry loved gardens, flowers, and became a Life Member of the Garden Club of South Carolina. She served as president of both the Beech Island Garden Club and the Oriental Garden Club. Mrs. Gentry was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, which she served in many capacities through the years.
Survivors include, her daughter, Lynda Manly LaCasse and husband J.P.; and her granddaughter, Laura Massaro and husband Marc.
She is preceded in death by her son, Walter L. Manly, Jr.; and her brother Charles Marion Waddey, III.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2015 one hour prior at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
