Edward M. "Ed" Gadowski, a 14 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at John Adams Healthcare Nursing
Home in Quincy following an extended illness. He was 69 years old.
Ed was born in Cambridge on March 31, 1946, a son of the late Edward Gadowski and Mary (Monagle) Gadowski. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from North Cambridge High School in 1964. Ed began working as a Medical Photographer at Massachusetts General Hospital Eye & Ear Infirmary and retired after 20 years of service before becoming a Constable with Suffolk County where he dedicated his service for over 10 years. Ed was a very talented Irish Step Dancer in his earlier days of growing up in Charlestown and was a talented artist, musician and photographer. He was an avid reader, but was known to many as a man who was kind, intelligent and very generous and caring to all who knew him.
Ed is the devoted brother of John Gadowski of West Tisbury, Daniel Gadowski and his wife Louise of Quincy and the late Thomas Gadowski. He is the loving uncle to Evan, Marisha and Tori.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ed's Funeral Service on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
