WEBSTER – Lorraine L. (Langlois) Millette, 96, passed Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge. Her husband of 56 years, Emile E. Millette, passed in 2001.
She leaves 2 sons, Bernard E. Millette and his wife Patricia of Webster, and Robert J. Millette and his wife Dianne of Shrewsbury; 2 daughters, Janice A. Millette-Berbner and her husband Fred of Tempe, AZ and Marie L. Millette and her companion Joseph Petkiewicz of Cherry Valley; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Gardner, the youngest of the 16 children of Joseph D. and Albertine (Benoit) Langlois. She was raised in Worcester, graduating from Notre Dame High School and attending Worcester Girls Trade School. She moved to Webster in 1954 and lived here 56 years before moving to Southbridge Rehab and Nursing Center 5 years ago.
In her youth, Mrs. Millette worked at her family’s business, the Bancroft Hotel in Worcester. She also collected telephone bill payments at the Firestone Store in Webster for several years. Her main occupation was to be a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of its Ladies of Saint Anne. She enjoyed spending time in prayer. The family would like to thank the staff on the third floor of Southbridge Rehab for their care and concern for Lorraine during her time there.
The funeral will be held Saturday, August 22, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, August 21, in the funeral home. Memorial donations in her name may be made to either Southbridge Rehab Patient Activities Fund, 84 Chapin St., or to the Alzheimer’s Support Network, PO Box 839, both in Southbridge, MA 01550.
