Obituary



Donald Arthur Jerpi, 79, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2015 in Ormond Beach, FL after a long illness.
Donald was the beloved husband of nearly 55 years and survived by Marie L. (Cordaro) Jerpi, daughters Lori L. Jerpi, Lisa M. (Jerpi) and husband Matthew J. Paine, Lynne A. (Jerpi) and husband Jack D. Alt, and grandsons Matthew, Nathan and Owen Paine, and Joshua J. Alt.
Donald is also survived by his sister Florence V. Mulready of Plymouth, MA, a brother-in-law Peter and wife Bette Cordaro, and has several nieces and nephews. He was fondly known to his family and friends as Sonny, Donnie, and Don.
Donald was a US Naval Korean War veteran, a yeoman 2nd class in submarine service. He was employed by National Marine Fisheries Service for 37 years. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School, class of 1953.
Donald and Marie lived in North Attleboro, MA for 35 years where they raised their family before retiring to Ormond Beach, FL. They were active long-time members of Central Congregational Church in North Attleboro.
Donald was preceded in death by his infant daughter Anne Marie, his parents Arthur H. Jerpi and Alice M. (Chase) Jerpi, his sister June I. (Jerpi) MacArthur, brother-in-laws Richard H. MacArthur, Paul V. Mulready, and nephew Richard D. MacArthur.
Donald was an avid fisherman and a loyal New England sports fan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday, August 14 from 10 AM to 12 Noon and the funeral service at the funeral home at 12 noon.
