Obituary

Methuen - Norma B. Ouellette, 88 of Methuen, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

She was the daughter of the late Balzer and Mary Dyson. She was born and raised in Methuen, where she lived most of her life. She attended Methuen Schools and the Edward F. Searles High School. Later in life, Norma attended Northern Essex Community College, where she received her certificate in medical transcription. She worked for the Visiting Nurse Association in Andover for many years before her retirement in 1992. Norma was a devoted parishioner of St. Monica's Church in Methuen. She was also a former member of their choir.
She had a love for music and was a lifelong pianist. She also enjoyed singing and belonged to many choral groups. She held sing-a-longs at the Nevins nursing home and entertained her family on the piano. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, playing cards, shopping, and traveling. Norma's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be greatly missed.

Norma was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Ouellette, Sr., who died in 2008. They shared 63 years of marriage. Norma will be deeply missed by her son and daughter, Robert Ouellette, Jr. of Andover and Denise Sullivan and her husband, Jeffrey, of Salem, NH; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Crane and her husband, Eugene, of Derry, NH and Kimberlee Simpson and her husband, Christopher, of Methuen; 6 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Matthew, Benjamin and Nicholas Crane and Evelyn and Audrey Simpson; several nieces, nephews and friends, including those at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Norma’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 4 - 8 P.M. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen on Wednesday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.

The family has requested, in Norma’s honor, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
