New Bedford – Maria Luisa da Silva, age 89 of New Bedford formerly of Murtosa, Portugal, passed away on Friday August 7, 2015 at her home. She was the widow of Antonio de Oliveira e Silva and the daughter of the late Ana Emelia (da Silva) and Alfredo Afonse da Silva.
Born in Aveiro, Murtosa, Portugal, Mrs. Da Silva came to this country in 1999.
Her family includes 6 children: Guilhermina Silva of New Bedford, Manuel Silva and Antonio de Oliveira e Silva, both of Portugal, Maria da Gloria Valente of New Bedford, Augusto Silva of Connecticut and Alfredo Silva of New Bedford; as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M. A service will take place during that time. Burial will be in Murtosa, Portugal. Please omit flowers. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
