Floyd E. Muir, 82

Floyd E. Muir, age 82, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.
He was the beloved husband of the late Betty L. (Rockwell) Muir to whom she was wed for nearly 60 years at the time of her death on April 23, 2015.
Born in Albion, New York on October 21, 1932, he was a loving son of the late Leon E. and Pansy Mae (Barnard) Muir. He grew up and was educated in New York, and during the Korean War he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy prior to being honorably discharged.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Muir worked as a metal spinner at the Bridgeport Metal Crafts Co. in Constantia, New York and when younger as a carpenter.
A resident of Norton for over 20 years, Floyd’s interests included working on his computer, painting, model cars and puzzles. He loved being in the presence of his adoring family, which included cookouts and the company of his daughter Cheryl’s dogs.
Floyd and his late wife Betty shared a wonderful marriage. He relished the times and trips they had taken together and missed her very much since her recent death.
He is survived by his devoted children Cheryl A. Cekanavich and her husband Alan of Norton and Floyd C. Muir of Attleboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Richard Cekanavich, Sarah Paff and Heather Muir, and the great grandfather of Cassandra Paff. He was the dear brother of Edna and Anna and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
