Obituary


Sylvio "Gus" W. Horion, 88, of Manchester, passed away on August 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on February 25, 1927, the son of Ephrem and Elianne (Prince) Horion. Sylvio attended school in Manchester. He was a resident of Auburn for 39 years and a resident of Manchester for 49 years. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. In his working career, he was employed as a mechanic for Mack Motors and later drove a truck for J.W. Schwartz, along with several other companies, retiring in 1988.
Sylvio had a passion for buying, selling and working on antique cars. He was a very hard worker, but his family always came first. He was a Deacon in the church of God of Prophecy for 17 years and was an avid teacher for the word of God. Sylvio was described as extremely helpful, caring, kind, with a good sense of humor. Over all he will be remembered as a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and a wonderful husband.
The family includes his wife of 65 years, Muriel Cote Horion of Manchester; two daughters, Linda Dross and husband Michael of Auburn, and Lisa Horion of Manchester; two sons, Raymond Horion and wife Mary of Hooksett, and Norman Horion of Manchester; four grandchildren, Jill and Kristen Dross, Erin Froton, and Keith Horion; two great grandchildren, Ella and Emelia Froton; and two sisters, Lorraine St. Onge and Adrienne Mohammed. He was predeceased by both parents; and 11 siblings.
A memorial service took place on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Inurnment, along with military honors followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
