GREEN - Arthur Douglas "Doug" Green, Sr., 68, passed away Monday morning , August 3, 2015 at his Yulee, FL residence surrounded by family.
He was born August 30, 1946 in Miami, WV and moved to Yulee, FL 36 years ago from WV.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church where he played music and was willing to do anything that needed to be done. He coached Little League Baseball, and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a committed disciple of his Lord Jesus Christ.
Mr. Green was predeceased by his parents, James Otis and Myrtle Cooper Green Browning And Stepfather Able Browning.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 40 years, Helen L. Green of Yulee, FL; sons, Arthur Douglas Green, Jr. (Tracy) of Brunswick, OH, Todd Anthony Green (Traci),also of Brunswick, OH, Roger Humphreys Green (Neisis) of Brunswick, GA; three daughters Libby Green Beattie (Skip) of Brunswick OH, Heidie Green (Graham) of Yulee, FL, and Stephanie Simmons (Joshua), also of Yulee; a brother, Jerry Green (Janet) of Ft. Myers, FL; sisters, Theresa Perdue (Herb) of Miami, WV, Neoma McKinney (Leonard) of Northridgeville, OH, and Brenda Payne (Leland) of Dawls, WV; Saundra Phipps (Dave) of Yulee, Fl, Jeffrey Hixon (Julie) of Middleburg, Fl; and several grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Community Baptist Church, 85326 Wynona Bayview Road in Yulee with Rev. Hartford Peeples officiating. Interment will follow at Green Pine Cemetery. There will be a reception at the church following the interment. The viewing and visitation will be from 6pm-8pm Thursday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
