Nancy Breen DeLuca, 82, died on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center after a long battle with cancer. Nancy was born June 22, 1933 on “Little Island” in Sunapee, NH, a daughter of the late Terrance Cornelius Lyons and Nancy Jane (Breen) Lyons, and her sister Gertrude (Lyons) Vadurro. Nancy graduated from Lawrence High School class of 1950, later graduating with her RN from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing affiliated with Rivier University in Nashua, NH 1953. Nancy began her nursing career at the St. Joseph’s Floating Hospital, Boston, MA and then Holy Family Hospital where she worked as an RN in most departments and then became night Supervisor for 27 years, totaling 38 years.
Nancy enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, martinis and entertaining her family and friends at home.
Nancy is the wife of late Salvatore Fred DeLuca, one son, John S. DeLuca and his wife Marueen of Derry, NH, and three daughters, Kerry A. (DeLuca) Verba and her husband Michael of Las Vegas, NV, Sharon F. DeLuca of Chester, NH, and Nancy Jane (DeLuca) Sweeney and her husband John L. of Derry, NH.
Nancy leaves behind her grandchildren, Joseph Verba, Amanda Kerry Verba, Alicia (DeLuca) Wakim, Salvatore “Sam” John DeLuca, Margaret Lillian Mulrennan, Molly Theresa Mulrennan, James Rockwell “Rocco” Mulrennan, John Leonard Sweeney, IV and Lauren Lyons Sweeney. Great grandchildren Joseph Michael Verba and Salvatore London Verba.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:00AM and will be held at the funeral home located at 122 Amesbury St, Lawrence, MA. A burial service will follow at the West Hampstead Cemetery, West Hampstead, NH.
