Obituary

Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Sherman) Noble, 92, longtime resident of S. Dartmouth, formerly of New Bedford, passed on to heaven to be with her late husband Roy Noble Jr. and her daughter Joanne on July 29, 2015.
Betty was the daughter of the late Philip and Hilda (Sullivan) Sherman. She was predeceased by her sisters Lucy Ann Sherman, Mary Gilmore, Phyllis Paquin, and brother Dennis.
Betty is survived by her daughter Mary Ruth, sons Roy and Philip, her sister Ruth Belleveau and her husband David of Cape Cod, her cousin Maryellen Emmons of New Bedford, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was proud of the military service of her husband Roy WW2 veteran and her father Philip WW1 veteran. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in S. Dartmouth, and previously St. Lawrence Church in New Bedford.
After graduating from Holy Family High School, Betty worked at the New Bedford Institute of Savings, at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, and attended nursing school, prior to becoming a full time mother and homemaker. She was a gentle, loving lady who enjoyed being in the outdoors, gardening, sketching, tennis, and swimming at the beaches of Mattapoisett and Dartmouth, and especially enjoyed overnight and day trips as well as bike riding with her husband along the Cape Cod Canal.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, August 3rd at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 9 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, August 2nd from 4-6 PM.
