Ruth L. Steen (Trim) of Somerville passed away July 29th at Traditions of Dedham surrounded by her loving family, with a son and granddaughter holding her hand when the Lord took her home 6 days shy of her 95th birthday. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, she graduated from Belmont High School in LA and attended Los Angeles Business College. While in high school, she was the class treasurer and lettered in tennis, played field hockey and received the American Legion Citizenship Medal of Honor. Before her marriage she worked for Union Pacific Rail Road and Olympic Cleaners in LA. She was an accomplished pianist and seamstress who taught her children how to camp, cook on a wood fire and sleep in a tent. Beloved wife of the late Sigurd Steen. Mother of Edward Steen of Canton, John Steen of Pacifica, CA, Harold Steen of Canton, Charles Steen of Pacifica, CA, and David and Raymond Steen both of Canton and the late Lorraine Steen. Sister of Walter Trim of Los Angeles and the late Charles Trim, Robert Trim, and Mildred Parker. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with 3 on the way. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 5-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10:30. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 1 pm and arrive at the Glenwood Cemetery Washington Ave in Everett between 1:30 and 2 pm. | |||||
