Obituary


ABINGTON- Helen M. (Cassidy) Baxivonus, 83, formerly of Middleboro and Whitman died Tuesday July 28 after a courageous battle with cancer. Helen was the wife of the late John M. Baxivonus.

She leaves her loving daughter Karen M. (Baxivonus) Sheridan of Abington and devoted son Mark E. Baxivonus of Weymouth. Helen was a doting grandmother to Kate Sheridan-Femia of Whitman and Emily J. Sheridan of Abington. She is also survived by Kate's husband Giuseppe Femia and her 3 great-grandchildren Nicholas, Aidan and Juliet Femia, She is also survived by her former son-in-law Bill Sheridan, her sister-in-law and six nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John E. and Catherine T. Cassidy as well as her brother John E. Cassidy Jr. of California.

Helen was passionate about her family, anything British, watching Fox News, and music, especially Neil Diamond. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a truly kind, generous and “classy’ woman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services to be held Monday August 3 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street, Dorchester. Visiting hours will be held Sunday August 2 from 3:00-7:00 PM.
