Thomas M. Brown, age 46, of Brockton, died Tuesday July 28, 2015 at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the proud son of Jean D. (Robinson) Brown of Brockton and the late William A. Brown, Jr.; brother of Kathy Guiney and her husband Ed of Brockton; the late Julie Chartier; brother-in-law of Mark Chartier of Brockton; Bill Brown of Berkeley Heights, NJ; Dr. Donna Brown of Ormond Beach, FL; and Sean Brown and his wife Laureen of Hanover. He leaves several loving nieces and nephews.
Tom’s heart was the center of his core. He grew up in a family of nine, including Papa Robinson. The youngest of six, he was a rock of a son, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed the simplicity of a good friendship. He inherited from his parents the ability to befriend solid people and had an unmatched wit. His self-deprecating humor made it easy to know him and laugh with him. The bonds he created through his work at the Brockton Housing Authority (BHA) and the Enterprise Club were paramount. His passions included music, particularly Jazz, a well-prepared dish, and a desire to build things that would last a lifetime.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Friday 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial at a later date. Please omit flowers. Tom’s family requests donations be made in his name to the charity of one’s choice.
