Stella (Ciarmataro) Aiello, 97, of New Bedford died July 28, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Aiello and the mother of the late Salvatore J. Aiello.
Born in the North End of Boston, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Philipa (Lafata) Ciarmataro, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Aiello was an active communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
She was formerly employed as a seamstress for many years until retirement.
For many years, Stella enjoyed spending time at Ocean Grove in Swansea, dancing with friends and summers at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. She lived very independently until recently, and spent the remainder of her days surrounded by her loving family.
Stella warmed the hearts of so many people that knew her and will be sadly missed. She was a very kind and thoughtful woman and had such a strong faith in God.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Connie Reynolds and Connie Aiello, both of Fairhaven; a brother-in-law Sebastian Aiello of Fairhaven; many nieces, nephews, loving family members and many friends.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, July 31st at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Burial with follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, July 30th 4-7 PM.
