NORTH DIGHTON – William Gantz of North Dighton, former husband Theresa (Souza) Peck of Taunton, died at the Taunton Nursing Home on July 27, 2015.
He was 87.
Born in North Star, Michigan, he was the son of the late Harley and Neva (Wilkinson) Gantz.
Raised in Michigan, William was a graduate of Ithaca High School.
A retired Chief Petty Officer, he served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
He was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church.
William enjoyed all sports including hunting and fishing; and enjoyed visiting casinos.
In addition to his former wife, he leaves two sons, William Gantz, Jr. and his wife Becky of Norton and Larry Gantz of Taunton; a daughter, Sandra Johnston of Taunton; a brother, Roger Gantz and his wife Carol of Sumner, Michigan; 3 grandchildren, John Boulter, Larry Gantz, Jr. and Elizabeth Gantz; 4 great grandchildren; John Boulter, III, Brayden Boulter, and Adeline and Blake Gantz; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Shirley Litwiller, Joan Martin, Stuart Gantz and Patricia Miller.
A funeral mass will be held at Annunciation of the Lord Church on Wednesday, July 28th at 11 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
