Henry G. Macdonald formerly of Halifax, MA and Ocala, FL passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday July 26, 2015 at Longmeadow of Taunton. Mr. Macdonald was 86 years old. He is reunited his wife the late Dianne Macdonald (Clapp) and is survived by his daughters Kim Madden and Debra Bostrom and her husband Thor and a son John A. Macdonald and his wife Kimberly. Mac was the proud but “Grumpy Grampy” of Joshua Ladue, Shane Ladue, Heather Leonard and her husband Brandon, Lisa Scolaro and her husband John, Matthew Macdonald and Shawn Macdonald. He was also the great grandfather of Zachary Ladue, Zoey Ladue and Abby Ladue.
Mac was born in Boston on May 18, 1929, the son of John A. and Margaret Macdonald. He graduated from Mission Hill High School and was his own boss for almost all of his adult life having a restaurant and Canteen truck. Mr. Macdonald avidly rooted on his favorite teams the Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots. He was loved for his incredible sense of humor and quick wit. Mac also enjoyed playing cribbage, hearts on his laptop and loved going to Lobster Hut in Plymouth with his wife. He loved to collect coins for his children and grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at Woodlawn-North Purchase Crematory in Attleboro. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St/Route 140) is honored to serve Mac’s family as they celebrate his life.
