Obituary

Mrs. Bertha (Ladurantaye) Stanek, of Taunton, died Saturday, July 25 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of 66 years of the late Peter J. Stanek. She was born 95 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Eugene J. and Alexandrine (Boudreau) Ladurantaye. Bertha was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a seamstresss for the former Whittenton Garment Corp. for 15 years. She was previously employed at both the T.J. Holmes Company in Norton, and at Eureka Manufacturing Company. Bertha was a member of the former St. Jacques Church Womens Guild. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, reading and spending time with her family. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
She leaves: 2 sons: Gene Stanek and his wife, Edna of Westminster, Col., and Peter Stanek Jr. and his wife, Annette of Brockton; 3 daughters: Suzanne Wade of Taunton, Pauline Garriepy of Wareham and Ann Marie Murphy and her husband, Brian of Taunton; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bertha was also the sister of the late Adrien Ladurantaye and Adrienne Rasmussen.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, July 29 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
