Mary N. Stevenson (Melfie) age 99 of Canton passed away July 25th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Isabelle Melfie. Mary graduated from Mansfield High School and has lived in Canton since 1938. She was the Supervisor of the Canton High School Cafeteria for many years before retiring. Mary and her husband Charles, enjoyed dancing, attending weekly dances with friends, travelling and winter visits to Florida. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Canton Catholic Women’s Club. Beloved wife for 77 years of Charles E., Sr. Mother of Isabelle Toomey and her husband John of Canton, Carol Stevenson of Marston Mills, Joan DiGiacomo of Norwood, and Charles E. Stevenson, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Milton. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 5-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Thursday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in her memory to the St. John School Foundation Box 604 Canton, MA 02021. | |||||
