MICHAEL WAYNE MAHURIN, a life-long resident of Louisville, KY. died unexpectedly in Spencer County, KY. July 23, 2015 at the age of 41.
Michael was born December 5, 1973. He was a former employee of Neil Lavielle and Louisville Slugger Field, a member of FOP Auxillary River City Lodge #614, and attended West Broadway Baptist Church.
A devoted family man, Michael loved life, but particularly enjoyed tinkering, cooking, and collecting remote control planes, helicopter, cars and boats. He was always willing to give up his own time and possessions to help his friends and loved ones. Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Preceding him in death was his nephew, John Edward Mahurin.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 6 years, Heather (Hodson) Mahurin; his children, Codey Michael Mahurin, Christopher Nicholas Hodson, and Caitlyn Nichole “Mini-Me” Mahurin; his parents, Ed and Nina Mahurin; brother, Matthew Mahurin (Cassandra); sister, Melissa Mahurin Whitehead (Daniel); grandmother, Thelma Best; mother-in-law, Debbie Hodson; nieces, Kahlia and Addison; nephews, Liam, Caleb and Carson; and several cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in the Mahurin Family Cemetery, Grayson County, KY.
Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
