Christine S. Barton, 58, of Boston, MA, lost her fight with cancer Friday, July 24, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was born in Derry, NH on April 25, 1957, a daughter of Eleanor (Watt) Barton and Forrest Barton. She was raised in Derry until 1961/62 when the family moved to Conway, NH. She attended schools in Conway until returning to Derry where she finished high school at Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1975. Since graduation she has lived in Boston for many years with various jobs. Her interests were music, photography and also her love for animals. She was a volunteer at the Animal Shelter in Boston, and loved working with the girls at Nempac, a non-profit organization group that worked a lot with children. She was much loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her mother, Ellie Barton of Londonderry, NH; her father, Mickey Barton of Epsom, NH; her sisters, Linda Alaimo and husband Jim of Milford, NH, and Karen Brown and husband Mike of Atlanta, GA; her brothers, Stephen Barton and wife Melissa of Manchester, NH, and Matthew Barton of Atlanta, GA; her uncle and aunt, Carl and Carole Watt of Seattle, WA; and her niece, Emily Barton of Manchester.
Honoring Christine’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. The family will have a private gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, c/o Advancement, 10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
