Mrs. Sylvia G. (Sieczka) Ferry, 73, of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, July 22nd at Brigham and Womans Hospital. Daughter of the late Francis and Hattie (Gawronski) Sieczka she was Born in Lackawanna, NY and moved to the Boston area 54 Years ago. She retired from DDA where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. Mrs. Ferry was a past President of the Emblem Club # 46 at the BPOE Lodge 1435. She was also a member of Royal Arcanum. Mrs. Ferry enjoyed crocheting and teaching ceramics but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Mrs. Ferry is pre-deceased by her brother Daniel Sieczka of Blasedell, NY. Mrs. Ferry is survived by her loving husband Donald E. Ferry Sr. of Medford, one daughter; Deborah and her husband James Flaherty of Derry, NH, one son; Donald E. Ferry Jr., of Medford, three grandchildren; Ryan, Jamie, and Joshua. one brother; Joseph Sieczka of Mattituck, NY, and one aunt Alfreda Janoske of Buffalo, NY. There are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA, on Thursday at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Mrs. Ferry to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
