Steven M. Ferris, Sr., a lifelong resident of Taunton passed away at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence of complications following an accidental fall. He was 52 years old. Mr. Ferris is survived by his wife Sandra Ferris (Pimental) of Taunton, the woman with whom he shared love and commitment with since the age of 14. He leaves behind his daughter Heather Ferris and her fiancé Ramiro Tavares of Taunton, his son Steven M. Ferris, Jr. and his fiancé Erica DeSousa of Taunton and his adopted sons Jerome and Derek Silva also of Taunton. Steven was the grandpa of Siara Ferris and step-grandpa of Destiny Almeida and the loving “Bampa” of Haven and Isaiah Tavares. He was loved by his siblings; Dave of Florida, Carol of New Hampshire, Billy and his wife Sandy of New Hampshire, Bobby of Tennessee, Jo-Ann and her husband Martin of Tennesee, Linda and her husband Steve of Florida, Nancy and her husband Melvin of Taunton, Jeffrey of Canton, Kenny and his wife Sandy of E. Freetown and the late Frankie and Ronnie Ferris. Steven also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his sister in law Robin.
Steven was born in Taunton on September 23, 1962 to his parents the late Francis and Elsie Ferris (Monice). He left high school before graduating but would later work hard to achieve his G.E.D. He was a hard worker and showed that work ethic and his talents as a carpenter. The only greater skill that Steven had than his life’s work in carpentry was his skill as a family man. His wife and children were everything to him and he loved being a grandpa/ “Bampa”.
Mr. Ferris was an avid sports fan and routed on the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed NASCAR. Above all he was a kind hearted man who was willing to help anyone. He will be forever loved by his family and friends.
Cremation will take place at Woodlawn-North Purchase Crematory in Attleboro. A memorial gathering will take place at a later time in a private family setting.
