Obituary

Eleanor A. (Alekel) Haddad, 93, a resident of Methuen passed away on Saturday, July 18th, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Methuen, Massachusetts on October 30th, 1921 to Samuel and Elizabeth (Hajjar) Alekel. Eleanor was educated in the Methuen schools and was a graduate of Searle’s High School and later received her Associate’s Degree from Macintosh Business School in Lawrence, MA. She worked as a Bank Teller for Arlington Trust in Lawrence for 25 years until her retirement.
She loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren. She loved to bake, knit and cross stitch. Watching and caring for her plants, especially her orchids, while rooting for the Red Sox’s.
She is the wife of the late Edward B. Haddad
Eleanor is survived by her daughters Joyce Kelly and Jack Lavin of St. Louis, MO,
Joanne Haddad-Britt of Methuen, MA, and her son Joseph and his wife Maria Haddad of Methuen, MA.
Her grandchildren Jennifer Kavanagh, Michael Kelly, Amanda Britt, Brittany, Cailey and Jason Haddad, as well as 2 great grandchildren Ryan and Zachary Kavanagh.
She is predeceased by Edward Alekel, Elvyn Alekel-Hajjar and Claire Alekel Beshara.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23rd, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will take place United Lebanese Cemetery in Andover, MA.
