TAUNTON – John Braga, husband of Wilma E. (Reynolds) Braga, died at his Taunton home on July 16, 2015.
He was 86.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Victor and Mary (Gomes) Braga.
Mr. Braga attended Taunton Schools and later served in U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
A retired meter reader, Mr. Braga was employed by the Taunton Water Department for over thirty-five years.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of forty-six years, he leaves a son, Roland F. Escobar of Taunton; a daughter, Debra Burnham of Lakeville; a sister, Anna Farias of Taunton; four grandchildren, Roland F. Escobar, Jr., Shannon Medeiros, and Stuart and Shawn Burnham; eight grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Mary Ferreira, Alveda Crovello and Joseph, Anthony, Rose and Alice Braga.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, July 22nd at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at the Mass. National VA Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
