Thomas M. Woods, Sr.
Augusta, GA- Thomas Michael Woods Sr. best friend and loving husband of wife Monique Turns Woods for 30 years, devoted father of Lauren Woods Comtois with husband Shawn and Thomas Michael Woods Jr. with wife Tessa. Loving grandfather of Delaney Faith Comtois, daughters Peggy Woods with children Vanessa Marie, Julian Thomas, and Zoey, daughter Stefanie Woods passed away July 17, 2015 after a long illness.
Tom leaves behind his loving and devoted mother Mattie M. Woods, sister Rebecca Woods, brothers Barry Woods and wife Kim, Jack Woods Jr. and wife Sammye along with nieces and nephews Kasey Dean Woods, Jack Woods III, Brittany Woods O'Shaughnnesy, Lauren Perterka Rowland, Brandon Woods, Amy Turns and Robert E. Turns. He is preceded in death by his father Jack Woods Sr.
Tom also leaves behind two special fur babies; Spanky and Lily, whom he loved dearly and mother in law and friend Marlis Turns and special cousin David Crocker.
Tom proudly served in the US Army and was a member of Alee Shrine Temple, Martinez Masonic Lodge 710 F& AM and American Legion Post 192. Tom loved the outdoors; loved to fish, play golf and garden. Tom loved the mountains, tube down the Chatahoochee River and walk the trails of the water falls. Tom loved God, family and life.
There will be a memorial service Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
