Michael R. Chafe, age 56, of Carver, formerly of West Bridgewater, died July 16, 2015 at Lahey Clinic following a brief illness. He was the son of Joan E. (Linehan) Chafe and the late Lawrence R. Chafe. Mike was a graduate of West Bridgewater High School, class of 1978. While in high school, he worked for many hours with CID children at the Spring Street School. He enjoyed his family and friends, and had a special affection for his late pets Miglet and Alice. Whenever someone asked Mike “How are you?” he always said, “Broke but happy!” We have lost a piece of ourselves by losing Mike. He loved everyone and always gave of himself.
He is also survived by a brother Larry Chafe, Jr., his wife Catherine and their son Brian; and his twin sister Kathleen Urolatis and her husband Mark. Along with his family, he leaves a very special friend Eric Johnson of Stoughton.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 2-6pm. Graveside Services will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, Wednesday at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
