Mr. Jean P. Chappron, of Taunton, died Tuesday, July 14 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Katherine J. (MacLeod) Chappron. He was born 69 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late John J. and Dora F.(Dion) Chappron. Jean was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a Vocational Instructor at the former Paul A. Dever State School for 21 years. He was a former member of the Vega Club in Brockton. Jean enjoyed hunting, fishing, building furniture and spending time with his best friend, Max.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: Peter Chappron and his wife, Deborah of Berkley; 3 daughters: Lisa (Chappron) Cotell and her wife, Phyllis of Taunton, Gloria Chace and her husband, Randy of Dighton, and Deborah Tiffany-Rendon and her husband Robert of Dighton; his grandchildren: Brittney Marshall and Kora Desrochers, both of New Bedford, several nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Fred Craw. Jean was also the brother of the late Beverly Mulhern.
A Visitation will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street on Wednesday, July 22 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Hospice of Mass., 2527 Cranberry Highway, Suite D, Wareham, Ma., 02571.
