Obituary

Robert P. Lafleur 90, of Armand St, died Sunday in Landmark Medical Center. He was the devoted husband of Aline (Lamoureux) Lafleur. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on May 3rd of this year. Mr. Lafleur was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Edward and Regina (Peloquin) Lafleur. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He worked as a lab technician for the City of Woonsocket for many years retiring in 1987. Mr. Lafleur was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Church, Landmark Medical Center and Woonsocket Health Centre. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping, and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic, and a man of great faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters; Jeannine Lafleur of Woonsocket, Jeanne Dubilewski and her husband Philip of Narragansett, and Lorraine Vartanian and her companion Herve Tellier of Woonsocket, five grandchildren; Nicole Toomey, Krisanne Murray, Melissa Vartanian Orlando, Thomas Vartanian Jr. and Brian Vartanian, and twelve great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Ernest Lafleur. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 5-8PM.
