Obituary

SHREWSBURY/WEBSTER – Lillian E. (Pepka) Plasse, 89, formerly of Webster, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at home. Her husband of 55 years, Emile C. Plasse, died in 2006.
She leaves 3 children, Brian D. Plasse of Webster, Elizabeth P. Dominguez and her husband Nestor of Brooklyn, NY, and James R. Plasse and his wife Julia of Dudley; 5 grandchildren, Emily and Daniel Plasse, and Meryl, Avril and Jarrod Dominguez; a sister, Lorraine Jablonski of Holden; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Peter, William, Chester and Edward Pepka and by 3 sisters, Ann Kurowski, Frances Rembi and Clara Stawiecki.
She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Frank and Helen (Zajac) Pepka. She graduated from Bartlett High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She lived in Hartford, CT and Washington DC before returning to Webster. She then resided in New Hampshire for 27 years before moving to Shrewsbury in 2008.
Mrs. Plasse taught mathematics at Bartlett High School in Webster and then at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley. After moving to New Hampshire, she taught in the Plymouth area before retiring in 1990.
She was a an active member of Saint Agnes Church in Ashland, NH and a former member of Saint Louis Church in Webster. She enjoyed spending time with her family, skiing, playing bridge, gardening, mushrooming, hiking and traveling.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 25, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 9:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, July 24, in the funeral home.
