Haverhill – Vera M (Morris) Bolis, 91 of Haverhill, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at The Oxford in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Shaffie D. Bolis.
Born in Somerset, England on June 5, 1924, Vera was the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Hooper) Morris. She was raised and educated in Somerset, England. She worked as an assembler for Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury until her retirement. She was a former member of Christ Church United in Dracut. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, spending time at the beach, dancing, and traveling to England. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Vera will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sharon M. Kleczkowski of Haverhill; siblings, Gerald Morris, Joan Hooper, and Terrance Morris, all of England; 6 grandchildren, Gary, Shawn, and Shannon Meuse and Walter, Mark, and Gregg Kleczkowski; 9 great grandchildren, Cassandra, Gabriella, Olivia, Isabella, Ashton, Peyton, Juliana, Jacob, and Jillian; son-in-law, Peter Gundelfinger of Virginia; sister-in-law, Winifred DiTommaso of Lawrence; brother-in-law, Vincent DiTommaso; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Gundelfinger.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Vera’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 9-10 AM. Her funeral service will take place on Thursday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
