Irene A. Nicholson 89, of 1 Main St. died June 30, 2015 at the Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Samuel Nicholson. Born in Blackstone, MA, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Delvina (Breault) Dagesse. Irene worked at the Manville Jenks for 10 years, and the Argonne Worsted for seventeen years. She then worked as a waitress at the former Hamlet Diner for twenty one years, and then retired after eight years at CD Burnes Co. She was a member of the St. Joseph Sr. Citizens, and the Hanora Lippitt Manor Association. Irene loved playing bingo and going to Foxwoods.
She is survived by two brothers Maurice Dagesse of Brockton, MA, and Emile Dagesse of North Smithfield, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lionel, and Lucien Dagesse, Florence Either, and Muriel Dansereau.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
