Rocco J. “Rocky” Romeo Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on July 4, 2015. He was 90 years old.
Rocco was a longtime resident of Wakefield. He was a United States Army Veteran during WWII and played minor league baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs farm systems.
Rocco was the devoted husband of the late Mary L. (Giuliano) Romeo. He was the beloved father of Rocco J. "Rocky" Romeo Jr. and his wife Jean of Malden and Ralph J. Romeo of Wakefield. Rocco was the dear father in-law of Debra Leary. He was the brother of Joseph and Jerry Romeo and the late Janet Leone. Rocco was the cherished grandfather of Jason Romeo, Nicholas Romeo, Andrew Romeo, and Marissa Romeo.
A service will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday July 9th at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday July 8th from 3-7p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett
