New Bedford – Attorney Cynthia Conward, age 64 of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday July 3, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of Walter Conward and the daughter of the late Mary (Delgardo) and Benjamin Oliver.
Mrs. Conward was a graduate of Apponequet Regional High School, SMU, Assumption College and New England Law School. She was an educator at New Bedford High School as well as UMASS School of Law of which she retired from in December of 2014. She was also a Youth Counselor at the N.A.A.C.P. of New Bedford and Vice President of the Black Professional Organization of New Bedford.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Walter Conward, of Dartmouth; daughter, Kelli Conward Johnson of New Bedford and stepson, Michael Conward of Miami, Fla; grandchildren: Michaela, Neveyah, Corey, Jamail, Autumn and April; siblings: Kathleen Oliver Wright and Diane Baker Lavoie.
She was predeceased by her son, Corey and a sister, Carol Lopes.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home on Tuesday July 7 with a service to begin at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
