Obituary

Randy D. McClellan, 65 of Derry, NH and formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and friends after battling a long illness. Randy was born in Lansing, MI to his late parents, Richard L. and Marion J. (Swain) McClellan on August 10, 1949. Randy served in the MI Army National Guard and the NH Army National Guard from 1971 to 2003. Before retirement, he was awarded numerous commendations culminating in the Department of Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Randy worked as a truck specialist at Grappone Ford in Bow, NH, as a materials technician and transportation specialist at the National Guard Armory in Concord, NH, and most recently at Viaport in Derry, NH.
He was a communicant at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Derry, NH. As a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3023 of Derry, NH, Randy volunteered countless hours to the Derry community and its youth as well as the Special Olympics.
In addition to his parents, Randy was predeceased by son Joseph R. McClellan; his brothers, Rick E. McClellan and Dennis L. McClellan and sister Linda Barish . He is survived by his wife Ann (Melia) McClellan; sister Carol Holford and sister-in-law Patricia (Nicholvich) McClellan of Michican; his sons Patrick and Kathryn (Coole) McClellan of Derry and Brian McClellan of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter Meaghan and her husband Richard Ivey; granddaughter, Evelyn Ivey, of Londonderry, NH; his mother-in-law Jane E. (Gallagher) Melia; and aunts Mary V. Lowe and Nelle D. Edmunds of Lansing, Michigan as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Randy will be lovingly remembered for his unique sense of humor, devotion to his family and friends, and desire to always lend a helping hand. He will be sorely missed by many, many people.
Calling hours were held at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry on Monday, July 6th from 4 - 8pm. A Liturgy of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry on Tuesday at 10:00am. Burial followed at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
