Thelma L. Gasper passed away at the Mount Auburn Hospital on Tuesday, June 30th. She was 80. Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl (Stewart) Giannone. A Somerville resident for all of her life, she was devoted to her family and friends. Naturally fond of children, Thelma made her home a welcoming place for neighborhood children and watched out for them when their parents were away.

The beloved wife of the late James Gasper, she was a devoted mother of Debra McKin of Somerville, James Gasper of Sugar Hill, NH, John Gasper and his wife Donna of Nashua, NH, Jerry Gasper and his wife Susan of Medford, Robert Gasper of Connecticut. She was a loving grandmother to Stacey, David, Greg and Michael. She was a dear sister to Margie DeVellis, Roberta Cohen, Digger and Herbie Riley, the late Gloria Brian, Shirley Knight and Walter Giannone, Jr.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, July 11th from 4 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
