Obituary

Gerald J. de Repentigny, 96, of Manchester, died July 2, 2015 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in St. Isidore, Quebec, Canada on June 26, 1919 to Osias and Bernadette (Robert) de Repentigny. He lived in Manchester for most of his life.
During World War II he served under Gen. George S. Patten in the U.S. Army in the European Foreign Army Division as a radio operator. While in the Army he also played baseball and boxed.
Gerald was a firefighter with the Manchester Fire Department for 28 years. He had also worked at the Andover Tractor Trailer School, ADP as a courier, and the Currier Gallery of Art as a security guard until the age of 86. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church where he was an adorer in the Adoration Chapel and was a member of the League of 1000 Men at the Precious Blood.
He enjoyed dancing, skiing and boating at Lake Winnepesaukee. He was a body builder who always carried a picture of himself in his wallet.
Gerald was predeceased by a daughter, Colette Wieczorek and by seven siblings, Ruben, Rene, Robert and Jean de Repentigny, Loretta Dupuis, Yvette Boulanger and Rita Allard.
The family includes his wife of 33 years, Irene (Nolin) de Repentigny of Manchester; a daughter, Corinne Foreman-Doherty and her husband, David, of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Kimberly Keto-Montville, Nicole Foreman and Jaime Foreman; two great grandchildren, Rianna and Rebecca Montville; a brother, Oscar de Repentigny of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
