Obituary

Kelly S. Malmborg

"Once In awhile, you get shown the light, in the strangest of places, if you look at it right."
-Jerry Garcia

In the face of her strong will and perseverance, Kelly lost the battle with cancer, at the ripe old age of 47. On June 30, 2015, she was liberated from the shackles of her dwindling body and relieved of her suffering. Although we had hoped for more time, it's uplifting to know that she's reunited with her son, Shane Melkonian, her step
father, Richard Drake; and other family members.

Kelly was a brave woman with a fierce spirit. She had a vibrant personality, wisdom beyond
her years, and a compassionate nature that touched many people throughout her life.

She will be dearly missed by her significant other, Jun (Pedro) Davila; mother, Susan Smith, and her husband, John Smith; father, Will Malmborg; daughter, Nairi Melkonian; grandsons, Atraeyu Norris and John Melkonian; siblings, Eric Malmborg and Jody Inturri, and many loved ones.

As were Kelly's wishes, a celebration of life will be held on July 17, 2015 at the Eight Point
Sportsmen's Club, 147 Beaman Road, Sterling, MA, 01564.
Gathering starts at 5:30 and will continue throughout the night.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in care of Susan P. Smith, 12421 North Copper Spring Trail, Oro Valley, AZ, 85755 with a notation for Kelly. Online donations may be sent to Kelly's fund,
