Jose Cabral, age 81, of Swansea, formerly of Cambridge St in Fall River, passed away on June 30, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Maria Almerinda (Carreiro) Cabral. Born in Feteiras Sul, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Jose and Hortencia (Furtado-Sousa) Cabral. Jose loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His favorite things to do was talking about old times and gardening. He was most proud of his grapevine. Prior to retirement he worked at Quaker Fabrics for many years. Jose was a parishioner of Esprito Santo Church.
Jose leaves behind his children: Jose Manuel Cabral (wife Maria) of Swansea, Fatima Cabral (husband Jose) of Swansea, Carlos Cabral (wife Carol) of Wareham, Encarnacão Pimentel (Husband Albano) of Fall River; brother João Cabral of Açores; grandchildren: Elizabeth Townson, Joe Cabral, Justin Cabral, Kasandra Cabral, Talazia Cabral, Katy Albanese, Shantelle Pimentel and Jacob Pimentel; great-granddaughters: Luisa Townson, Arianna Townson and Paisley Foss. He was predeceased by his brothers Manuel, Armano and Mariano Cabral.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Espirito Santo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
