Obituary

Jean M. (Rafferty) Oskar, a longtime resident of Andover, passed away at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover on Monday afternoon, June 29, 2015. She was 80 years old.
Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on March 6, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of the late Terrence and Marion K. (Melville) Rafferty. She attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, as well as the Chandler School for Women in Boston.  Jean had been employed as a Secretary for many years and enjoyed working in Boston at the Marriott Long Wharf and Scudder Investments.  In her spare time she loved going to the beach to relax. She retired from work to spend more time with her loving family and help care for her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses; Paul A. and his wife Heidi Oskar of Gobles, Michigan, Marybeth P. and her husband Christopher G. Leary of Andover, David J. and his wife Nina Oskar of Stamford, Connecticut, Susan M. and her husband Peter Conner of Milton and Carolyn A. Armes of North Andover; sister-in-law Rosemary Carney of Middleton; grandchildren Christopher and Meaghan Leary, Emma Oskar, Gavin and Ryan Conner, William Armes and Kathryn and Caroline Oskar and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Richard J. Rafferty.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 10 AM.  Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.  Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 4 to 8 PM.
