Obituary

Richard A. “Dickie” Marsh, age 63, formerly of Dedham, died suddenly on Monday, June 15, 2015, after suffering a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, FL.

Born in Somerville, he was a son of the late William F. and Rita G. (Cass) Marsh. Dickie was member of the varsity hockey team and a 1970 graduate of Dedham High School. He had been the soundman for the 1970s Berkshires band FAT’S, and throughout his life enjoyed acting.

Employed as a contractor/carpenter in the Clearwater area, Dickie had recently completed work on a series of Public Service Announcements regarding depression, suicide, and drug and alcohol abuse for Florida TV. He was a Scientologist, a Facebook enthusiast, and is remembered as generous, gentle, easy going, and a wonderful friend. Rita’s cross to bear in life, they are now together in a better place.

He is survived by two daughters, Zyanya and Jessie Marsh, both of Clearwater; siblings William Marsh and his wife Irene of Brockton, Susan Salvi of Natick, Janet Morin and her husband Jerry of Pembroke, and Mary Costantino and her husband Joseph of Dedham; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, David, in 1972. Dickie was laid to rest with his parents at Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
