Rita (Dion) Chouinard (90), a long-time resident of Methuen, MA and Salem, NH, died Saturday June 27th at Sutton Hill Nursing Home. Born in Lawrence, MA she was one of 17 children of the late Ferdinand and Felixina Dion. She worked at both the Pacific Mill and Honeywell. She enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with her family. She was well known for her happy disposition and always quick to offer a friendly greeting.
Rita was a loving wife to Elmo, who predeceased her. She was a beloved mother to Linda Duarte and her husband Richard of Wolfeboro, NH, Henry (Benny) Chouinard of Salem NH and Denise Chouinard of Salem NH. She was also a wonderful mother-in-law to LeeAnn Chouinard. She was a much loved Memere to her grandchildren Tricia Weigold and her husband Adam, Kenneth Chouinard and his wife Lori, Kimberly Senior and her husband Shawn, Amy Duarte, Jeffrey Chouinard and great grandchildren Thomas Senior, Kenneth Chouinard Jr., Andrew Senior, Lilly Weigold, Benjamin Chouinard and Charlie Weigold. Rita was a dear sister to Stella Lemieux of Methuen, MA and Evelyn Lahey of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road Salem, NH on Thursday July 2 at 10:30 AM.
