Obituary

Troy Rivers 16, of Diamond Hill Rd. died June 26, 2015 at Landmark Medical Center. Born in Woonsocket, September 4, 1998, he was a son of Catherine (Keith) Guyette and her husband Eric of Woonsocket and Jackson Doherty-Rivers and his wife Allison of Boston.

Troy attended Woonsocket High School where he was a member of the ROTC. He achieved several ROTC milestones as a Senior Airman within a short period of time, including the National Award “The Sons of the Union”, outstanding Flight and Distinguished Unit. His success was also exemplified in track and field where he received the MVP award for his multitude of accomplishments in javelin, long jump, high jump and 4x100 relay, as well as his contributions as a teammate and friend to all. His abilities continued in his tremendous capacity as a source of humor, ensuring smiles on the faces of everyone he met.

Besides his parents he leaves three sisters, Victoria Langeveld, Kayla and Leah Rivers all of Woonsocket, a brother Tyler Houle of Cranston, and step brothers, Adam Guyette of Millville, Dallis and Orion Doherty-Rivers both of Boston, grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His funeral will be held Thursday from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 PM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers donations to Woonsocket Junior ROTC, 777 Cass Ave. Woonsocket, RI 02895, in his memory would be appreciated.
