John J. Benoit, 58, passed away on Friday, June 26th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. John leaves his daughter, Meredith Couture of Brookfield; his grandson, Matthews Simmons; his mother, Gertrude (Mahoney) Benoit; six siblings, Robert Benoit of Worcester, Suzanne Light of Webster, Patricia Sharry of Holden, Barbara Bolack of Worcester, Ann Ovian of Worcester and Richard Benoit of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father, Robert Benoit.
John was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School. He worked at Harr as a deliveryman, B&B Flooring and Curtis Industries. John was a New England sports enthusiast. He loved hanging out with his friends and playing softball on the Breen’s team. John had a big family and lots of friends and will be greatly missed by all of them.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 30th from 4:00 to 6:30 followed by a prayer service at 6:30 pm at CALLAHAN-FAY-CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to burial funds for John at www.gofundme.com/xupp2j4.
