Obituary

Howard A. Wagner, Sr., age 76 of Brockton, died peacefully, June 24, 2015 surrounded by family at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband for 56 years of Jean L. (Moore) Wagner. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Leon and Virginia (Welch) Wagner, Sr. He was raised and educated in Whitman and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 56 years. Howard was a driver for the Narragansett Beer Distributing Company in Brockton for 25 years and retired from Pine Acres Campground after 20 years. He was a “Jack of all trades” and loved to work on trailers. He was a member of the Elks in Randolph, Teamster Local 653 and Polish White Eagles. He enjoyed time spent with his family, dancing the Polka, golf, camping, bowling, roller skating cribbage and darts. He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by two daughters Debra J. Ensko and her husband Joseph P. Jr. of Brockton and Donna L. Casey and her husband Robert J. Jr. of Brockton; nine grandchildren Christine Spadea and her husband Matthew, Joseph, Elizabeth and Jennifer Ensko; Michael Wagner and his wife Elizabeth; Jamie Hanson and her husband Jonathan; Amy Casey, Robert Casey, III and Howard A. Wagner, III; seven great grandchildren Shayna and Michael Wagner; Dylan, Andrew and Julia Spadea and Kayla and Ryan Hanson; a sister Kathleen Sewell and her husband Robert of Florida; and sister in law Ethel Sousa of Providence, RI. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Howard Wagner, Jr. and brother of the late Leon Wagner, Jr.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday, 1-3pm followed by a prayer service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., #501, Boston, MA 02210.
