Douglas A. MacCallum, Jr., age 64, of Groton formerly of Wilmington passed away Thursday morning, June 25th, after a lengthy period of declining health. Born in Somerville he was one of four sons of the late Douglas A. and Elizabeth (Bowden) MacCallum Sr.

Doug was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School. He worked for twenty years in management with the Demoulas Market prior to owning and operating the Tedeschi Convenient Store in Tewksbury for over twenty years. In his leisure time he enjoyed boating and spending time on the ocean, trips to Disney World, landscaping and gardening at his home and he also loved animals.

Doug was the beloved husband of the late Madeleine (Curran) MacCallum. He is survived by his devoted son, Nicholas P. MacCallum of Groton, brothers, David MacCallum of Groton, Dennis MacCallum and his wife Arleen of Wilton, NH, Donald MacCallum and his wife Julee of Dracut. Nephew of Donna MacCallum of Wilmington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his good friend Bobby Hart of Reading.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington, Monday evening, June 29th, at 7 p.m. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 4 thru 7 p.m. Interment services will be private.
