Robert Myles Nelson, 81, of Morrison, TN, formerly of Londonderry, NH passed, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mr. Nelson was born in Nashua, NH, the son of the late Myles Renwick and Louise (Holton) Nelson. He was a Mechanical Engineer, who began his career with Rockwell in CA and then worked for General Dynamics at Vandenberg AFB, and later for Boeing as a launch engineer at Cape Canaveral, FL. He concluded his career at AEDC (Arnold AFB) in Tullahoma, TN. He was raised in Londonderry, NH and attended the Londonderry Presbyterian Church, where he and his wife were married.
In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Nelson; one brother, Louis Yeaton Nelson; two sisters, Debbie Dionne and Phyllis Bourgault; and one grandson, David Leon Lowe. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet C. Nelson, of Morrison, TN; two daughters, C. Ivy Nelson-Groves and her husband, Rick Groves of Renton, WA and Catherine (Dennis) Lowe of Morrison; four sisters and their husbands, Phila Howard Brill of Plymouth, NH, Betty (Frances) Griffin of Westborough, MA, Evelyn (Jim) Walker and Jean (Russ) Hanson, both of Nashua, NH; a brother-in-law Ray Dionne of Hudson, NH; two grandchildren, Victoria (Matt) Armstrong and Elizabeth (David) Garrett; and four great grandchildren, Kaylee Conklin and Joshua, Jacob, and Matthew Garrett.
Calling hours were held concurrently with his wife’s on Tuesday, June 30th from 4 to 8 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. The burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery, Mammoth Rd., Londonderry.
