Methuen – Patricia A. (Murphy) Duphily, 74 of Methuen, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Victor J.R. Duphily, Jr., to whom she was married for 30 years.
Born in Methuen on January 9, 1941, Patricia was the daughter of John and Rita (Abbott) Murphy. She graduated from Tenney High School and worked for Western Electric for 30 years until her retirement in 1991. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips, especially to the beach and to Las Vegas. She was a longtime avid Red Sox fan, and she also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and the rest of her family.
Patricia will be deeply missed by her husband, Victor; 5 children, Linda Roche and her husband, William of Haverhill, Thomas Paquin and his wife, Anne of Lancaster, NH, Julie Tulley and her husband, Daniel of Methuen, Victor J.R. Duphily III and his wife, Denise of Clinton, CT, and Stephen Duphily and his wife, Stephanie of Plaistow, NH; 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Kathryn, James, Patrick, Kyle, Derek, Samantha, Thomas, Stephen, and Sophia; 2 sisters, Mary Cavallaro and her husband, Mario of Derry, NH and Doreen Adair and her husband, Jeffrey of Methuen; a brother, John Murphy of Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Donahue of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, William Donahue and a sister-in-law, Patricia Murphy.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Patricia’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 2-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen on Monday at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
