Madeleine G. Morelle, 94, of Woonsocket died peacefully Monday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Paul F. Morelle. They were married on December 27, 1943 and shared over 46 years together until his passing in 1990.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Jules and Alice (Trottier) Guerin. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life.
Mrs. Morelle was employed as a secretary in the mortgage department at Eastland Saving Bank for many years.
Madeleine was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Church and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed horseback riding and in later years golfing and oil painting with her husband.
She is survived by two sons Paul “PJ” Morelle (Beryl) of Falls Church, VA, and C. Marc Morelle of Woonsocket, four daughters Francoise M. Hogan (Daniel) of Woonsocket, Suzanne T. Morelle of Wakefield, Monique Plante (Roger) of North Stonington, CT and Meg Richer (Cliff) of Narragansett. She was the mother-in-law of the late Claudia Morelle. She was the sister of Marie-Aline Scaramella of Cumberland and the late Edmond, Francis and Jackie Guerin, Therese Drouin, Rose-Blanche Drolet and Andree Jeffords. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 State St. # 200 Providence, RI. 02908.
