Obituary

Wendy Elizabeth Theberge, 31, of Methuen Ma, passed away peacefully at her home after a long and hard fought battle with Ulcerative Colitis and depression on Thursday June 18, 2015. Wendy was born at Lawrence General Hospital in 1983 and raised in Methuen where she attended Methuen high school where she graduated in 2002 and was member of the Art Honor Society. She went on to Northern Essex Community college where she earned associates degrees in both Graphic design and Illustration. She then continued her artistic adventure at Wentworth University and continued on to Tufts University, New England School of fine Arts, where she earned a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts. Wendy worked as a freelance website designer and graphic illustrator and she had a unique and creative eye, creating many websites and paintings for different businesses.
As a child, she loved watching the artist Bob Ross on TV, which is what sparked her love of all art. She also enjoyed family vacations with cousins with specific memories from club Sandwich on Cape Cod, fishing, making home movies with her sister, and collecting old vintage gum packets from around the world. She was an avid do it yourselfer with passions such as hiking, photography, painting, woodworking, crocheting, and gardening. She loved hiking so much, she created the website "4000Footers.com" and the group "Hiking New England 4000 Footers," for people with a love of hiking as she did. She climbed 98 of the top 100 highest mountains in New England, and earned an impressive amount of hiking patches. Wendy always had a love for animals which only continued to grow after spending a summer at the MSPCA. She was always surrounded by a family of furry pets including her cats and her dog, her most loyal companion, Willy, who was always at her side, hiking or barking.
She is survived by her parents Donald and Sylvia (Peikert) Theberge;older sister, Jennifer Ordway and her husband Brett Ordway; younger sister, Kristine Theberge; Maternal grandparents, Charles and Gabriella Peikert;Predeceased Paternal Grandparents, Alfred and Rita Theberge; nephews, Connor Gunter and Jack Ordway; nieces, Alice Ordway (God daughter) and Emma Ordway; Godparents, Daniel Theberge and Pauline Yeaton; a Godson Wally Peikert; Many Aunts, uncles, cousins, and her beloved pets. She will always be remembered as a great daughter, a sister, granddaughter, Aunt, cousin, Godmother, friend and a true naturist and adventurist, sympathetic to all those in need, especially to animals.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday June 24th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday June 25th at 9 AM at St Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
